For a number of reasons, I have decided to put most of my recorded music online as reasonable quality MP3s at no charge. Donations are most welcome, needed and can be made via the PayPal button below. If you would like to make a donation but would prefer not using paypal, please get in touch with me at dondtreebpa@gmail.com
Funds raised for ดนตรีป่า music forest will go towards setting up my new studio/workshop. Funds raised could go towards tools & materials, rent for work space, general living expenses etc. The long term goal is within a year to having the workshop set up and self-sustaining through instrument sales internationally and music composition/songwriting.
You may make audio CDs of the music, put it on an ipod, share it with friends, come back to the page as often as you wish. Whatever suits you. The music is all under copyright and registered. Anything other than private use will need a discussion and a go ahead from me, Catherine Thompson but please ask, I'm pretty open to this sort of thing and not particularly possessive. Hey! It's the folk tradition. Likewise, if you intend to use the music for any sort of sampling, please let me know.
The button below will allow you to make paypal donations.

The Sun and the Wind Project Music
Music in this section is directly related to The Sun and the Wind Project. The project is a wide ranging and adventurous endeavour. The instruments are mostly made by myself with simple hand tools and reflects skuld's journey to find a transition from the domestic to the wild, the constrained to the free. I am in the process of putting a number of my audio track up on Soundcloud. I will post a number there and the rest will be linked to my google drive thingy.
please note: active links are highlighted in red. There are some older links that I've removed the connection for the time being. Space limitations on soundcloud being the main issue. If there are tracks below that you would like to hear but are inactive, just pop me an email and I'll get a version to you.

Banff Centre Music –- Recorded Autumn 2012
|
|
recorded live November 2012 at The Banff Centre. Here are the words: My horse has the finest feet in the herd, in the land he can run on grass and stone and snow, blood pumping with each step, blood flowing through his body. Each mark he makes upon the ground, is an entire world, that says, here I am, just try to stop me, there is no stopping him, He says I need no machine to propel me, on my way, and everything, to me, is enough. he says that everything that the earth gives to me is enough.
It's about my horse's feet.

Banff Centre Music –- Recorded Autumn 2011

recorded November 2011 at The Banff Centre. Using mysemi-improv cora piece ona Bulerias compas (recorded live below) and a poem by Jana Irmert (who did the fabulous recording and mixing) as a starting point. Layered Cora, Igil, Bodhran and Voice. Stacie Dunlop on vocals as well. Stacie and I improvised on what I had recorded all in one take.
Here is Jana's poem that was very much where the piece took off from:

dance music I have been composing for contemporary dance theatre for many years and below you will find a number of examples of recorded tracks as well as info about who choreographed the dances. I am deeply endebted to all of the dance artists involved, many of whom you won't see names below because of space limitations. For me, creating with dance is very much a collaborative art. The music wouldn't exist without all those involved – choreographers, interpreters/dancers, designers etc – if you wish more information on any of the music here please contact me by email, catherine.fiain@gmail.com
